The basic procedures used to eliminate the periodontal pockets iskcurettage and gingivectomy.during which a dentist pushes the gums aside and carefully cleans the bone and the internal surface of the gum mucosa of the inflammatory granulation which destroys the periodontal structures. Next, the sub-gingival calculus, where numerous bacteria and their toxins are located, as well as the surface layer of the pathogenically changed root cement, are removed. The procedure successfully fights the inflammatory condition for many years , and leads to decrease of the depth of pathogenic pockets and it improves the parodontium condition . After the treatments, the teeth look "longer" due to their roots exposure. However, their stability does not have to decrease.
