BONE AND PERIODONTAL TISSUE REGENERATING PREPARATIONS
Beside curettage and gingivectomy, it is worthwhile considering the application of materials which promote re-growth of bone defects and which, sometimes, stimulate regeneration of all periodontal tissues. Such materials include Bio-Oss in the form suitable for supporting pockets, with a biodegradable membrane protecting against gingival recession, and Emdogein gel - an enamel matrix derivative promoting periodontal regeneration. Recent studies have shown that the best results can be achieved by simultaneous application of Bio-Oss and Emdogein.
